1. Make Extra Time for Snuggles
It’s easy to get caught up in all the rush of celebrations, shopping, decorating, baking, and other endless activities. Set time aside to shower your pup with love amidst a busy holiday schedule, especially after you’ve been out and about or busy for long periods of time. It’s a good reminder for you to stop and breathe, and also makes your pup happy!
2. Focus on Their Health
Take time to assess your dog’s well-being. How is their diet and exercise routine? Maybe it’s time to change things up with a different dry food or additional nutrients. Do they need a check-up before the holiday crazy sets in? It’s a good idea to check in with your vet and share your concerns or ideas before you make any big changes. You can also make sure they’re well for travel or a staycation with A Ruff Day Bark Club!
3. Playtime
The cooler weather brings a welcome change to outdoor play. Give your pup time to run outside. Head to your favorite dog park for a puppy play date with other furry friends (we’ve got both covered at A Ruff Day). Take advantage of the weekends with trails and parks that would otherwise be sweltering in the summer.
4. Give Them a Memento or Special Treat
Dogs love getting gifts too! You don’t even need to shop. An old shirt or blanket of yours that holds your scent will mean a lot to your pup. Give them this memento for snuggling in their crate or let them love on it when they sleep. You can also share special foods of the season that are dog-friendly like sweet potatoes and turkey. Just skip foods with lots of sugar and dairy, or set aside a special portion before you mix in the spices or other flavors.
5. Choose a Loving Place as a Home Away from Home
If you plan to travel this holiday season, make sure your pup is in a clean and safe environment. At A Ruff Day Bark Club, we provide individual suites and loving care for your pup. How about a day away for your pooch while you shop? Our doggy daycare gives dogs an outlet for creative play and reinforces basic manners and skills. Bonus: you won’t have to stress about rushing home to take your pup out.
At A Ruff Day Bark Club, we want to provide the best place for your pup outside of your loving arms. We’re grateful for all our pawsome four-legged and two-legged members! Check out more about our services and upcoming events so you and your pup can join in the fun!
